Citizen Input
Our City Council chose profits over people, and gutted citizen participation

Our Fort Collins City Council did more than change the name of the Land Use Code to the Land Development Code on November 2nd: they also gutted citizen participation, choosing profits before people.
Choosing expediency and old fashioned cronyism over transparency and good governance, our City Council voted quietly and quickly to turn most of Fort Collins into a free for all for housing projects.
Citizen participation and good governance are important. This City Council vote on changing the Land Use Code showed that they believe both are bothersome and meddlesome.
Join an effort to repeal their vote. Preserve Fort Collins is one organization working to do just that.
It will take all of us to build housing that alleviates shelter insecurity. This Council took a shortcut, voting to ensure profits and less oversight from our community, instead of doing the hard work necessary to create more affordable housing choices in Fort Collins.
Thank you.
