Justine Wagner: Fort Collins City Council Knowingly Denied Historic Designation for 3 Homes Over 100 Years Old

From a Facebook Post by Justine Wagner:

City Council City of Fort Collins - Government knowingly denied these 3 homes Historic Designation, as they are aware they are all over 100 years old.

These homes were found by the Preservation Department to be of Historic Significance, and eligible for Historic Designation.

However, they were wrongfully denied this designation, and are now in the process of being demolished so a parking lot can be built in their place.

These Historic Landmarks are located at 718 S College, and also include 720 - 726 S College in Fort Collins.

724 and 726 were found as eligible for Historic Designation through the Architectural Survey conducted by a Historian through The City of Fort Collins Preservation Department.

These structures were occupied up until very recently for business and residential use.

What was the loophole that made these properties apparently now ineligible for Designation?

That is a question for City Council.

Once our History is gone, it WILL be gone Forever.

Stay involved in your local governments, and important decisions being made.
